BATH AND HAWK FLYING TOUR OVERVIEW

A unique experience for visitors to Bath - great for families and adults.
 

In the morning I will take you on a private walking tour of Bath to give you a great introduction to the city. You will see Bath's famous buildings and streets and hear interesting stories about the history of the city and past residents such as Jane Austen. I will also take you to my favourite viewpoint to give you a wonderful perspective of the city.
 

After lunch we will visit a small falconry on the outskirts of Bath where, under the supervision of a professional falconer, you will have the unique experience of flying a hawk in the English countryside! Before returning to Bath we will also visit their owlery to see their owls. It is also possible to fly owls instead of the hawk - if you would prefer to do this please let me know.
 

Tour duration: 6-7 hours, we will return to Bath between 3 and 4pm

Tour frequency: Daily 

Start time: 9am

Meeting point: Your accommodation in Bath or a central location in Bath e.g. the railway station.

Tour price: Price depends on the size of your group (maximum 4 people*) e.g.the price for 2 people is a total of £400. Lunch and refreshments are not included. The tour has a minimum recommended age of 8.

We will be outdoors for the majority of the tour and we will be walking in fields for the hawk experience so please bear that in mind for your clothing and footwear. There can be thistles in the fields! Long sleeves are recommended for the hawk flying.

We do not go inside any of the museums in Bath e.g. the Roman Baths museum.

​

I will book a table for lunch at a local pub. Lunch is not included in the price of the tour.

​

Hawks are carnivores so you will be feeding them meat during the tour (gloves for handling the meat are provided).

​

The hawk experience provides wonderful photo opportunities so bring your camera! I will be on hand to take photos so that you can concentrate on enjoying the experience.

​

The falconry is a non-for-profit organisation which is dedicated to promoting an understanding of the ancient art of falconry and providing rescue & rehabilitation for wild birds of prey. Your experience helps to fund their work.

Spaces at the falconry are limited and are subject to availability. After receiving your booking I will check availability and will contact you to confirm your space. Your credit card will only be charged if spaces are confirmed.

The falconry reserve the right to cancel the hawk experience in the event of unsuitable weather on the day. Should this occur you will have the opportunity to fly owls indoors which is an equally fantastic experience! If you prefer to fly owls instead of a hawk please let me know at the time of booking.

Pick-up is also available from destinations outside of Bath at an additional price (e.g. Bristol) - please contact me for details.
