FAMOUS VILLAGES

TOUR DESCRIPTION

I will collect you at 10am from your accommodation in Bath and drive you into the countryside surrounding Bath to explore two famous and beautiful villages. 
 

The picturesque villages of Lacock and Castle Combe have changed little over the centuries. Their charming appearance has made them popular filming locations e.g. Harry Potter, Downtown Abbey, Dr Doolittle and War Horse have all been filmed in the villages.
 

Walking around the villages I will show you traditional village features and places used in films and will tell you stories about the villages. Castle Combe is located within the Cotswolds and was once voted the prettiest village in England. I will explain about the Cotswolds and some of its unusual stories including why a sheep appears on its logo!
 

At the end of the tour I will drive you to Bristol Parkway Train Station - to arrive around 1.45pm.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We do not visit Lacock Abbey during the tour. If you are interested in visiting the Abbey which was converted into a country home and is where they filmed some of the scenes for Harry Potter please let me know in advance. An additional charge will apply to pay for the entrance fee.
