COVID-19 INFO:

Stonehenge and the brewery have limited the number of visitors to support social-distancing and all visitors must have a pre-booked ticket for a specific time slot (which I will arrange for you). During these Covid times the brewery has amended their experience to a talk about brewing and beer followed by the beer tasting session. A delicious pie is also included! The brewery has limited their tours to a maximum of 10 people so tickets are likely to sell out.

During the day I will drive you in my private vehicle. Whilst COVID-19 guidelines are in place, face-coverings are required to be worn inside the vehicle and in buildings such as the Stonehenge Visitor Centre and the brewery. I will supply disposable face-masks should you not have your own face-mask.

Bath Insider Tours has been awarded the "We're Good to Go" certification by the National Tourism Board of England to recognise it is following government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has appropriate measures in place. For more information on these measures please click on the "We're Good to Go" logo.

STONEHENGE AND BREWERY TOUR DESCRIPTION

Stonehenge is on many people's list of places to visit in England and some people argue that you haven't truly experienced English culture until you have tasted a pint of beer. This tour allows you to experience both!

I will drive you to Stonehenge (just under 1 hour from Bath) and will guide you around the ancient stone circle to explain its history, why this particular location may have been chosen and the most recent archaeological findings. Built thousands of years ago the exact purpose of Stonehenge remains a mystery. Some believe it was a ceremonial place for the Land of the Dead, others believe it to be a site of great energy. At the end of our visit you can form your own opinion!

After exploring Stonehenge we will drive to the historic Wadworth Brewery. Whilst Covid restrictions are in place a delicious pie is included in the brewery experience for your lunch. When Covid restrictions are removed we will visit a traditional English pub for lunch which will be at your own expense.

The Wadworth Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in the region, dating back to 1875. It is the only brewery to have an onsite sign-writing workshop where skilled craftsmen make the signs that hang outside the brewery's 200+ pubs. It is also one of the few breweries to still deliver beer by horse and cart to pubs in the local vicinity.

You will join the public tour of their traditional Victorian tower brewery to learn about the different stages of the brewing process. During the Covid restrictions this tour is a talk about brewing and beer in the Brewery's Visitor Centre. The tour ends with a tasting session of their popular beers and the opportunity to buy some beer souvenirs before I drive you back to Bath.

This tour starts at 8:30am. You will return to Bath around 5:30pm.

Pick-up is available from all Bath hotels and central locations in the city - such as the Bath Spa train station.
