TOUR DESCRIPTION
I will collect you from your accommodation in Glastonbury at 9am and drive you to England's smallest city, Wells, approx. 20 minutes away. The city is renowned for its impressive cathedral, its clock which is one of the oldest in the world and a street which is the oldest residential street in Europe - all of which you will visit during our private walking tour of Wells. We will also visit the historic Market Place and the Bishops Palace (we do not go inside the Palace). Wednesday is market day so you will get to see the small local market in Wells!

After visiting Wells we will drive back to Glastonbury stopping off at a local Farm Shop cafe for lunch (if you prefer to grab a bite at one of the market stalls in Wells please let me know). Glastonbury is arguably the quirkiest town in England and there are a number of myths and legends associated with it. We will visit the picturesque ruins and gardens of Glastonbury Abbey. The abbey claimed it was built on the site of the earliest Christian monastic site in Britain and went on to become one of the wealthiest abbeys in the country. After visiting the abbey we will walk to the Chalice Well. The Chalice Well is a garden with a spring which is a popular place for meditation and healing. I will give you free time at the Chalice Well to enjoy the ambience. Afterwards we will climb up to the Glastonbury Tor. The Glastonbury Tor is one of the most famous landmarks in the region and like the abbey it is steeped in legends. The walk from the bottom of the hill to the top of the hill where the Tor is located takes approximately 20 minutes depending on your fitness. There are around 260 steps and so it is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties. From the top you will be rewarded with panoramic views and I will explain about the legends behind the Tor.
After the tour I will walk you back to your accommodation in Glastonbury.

ADDITIONAL INFO
We will be outdoors and exposed to the weather throughout the tour so please bring appropriate clothing. At Glastonbury Abbey we will be walking on grass so please bear this in mind for your footwear.

An entrance donation for Wells Cathedral and admission tickets into the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey are included in the price of the tour. On the day you will just need money for lunch, refreshments and any shopping! Your entrance into the Chalice Well is not included in the tour price and so an entrance charge will apply on the day (expected to be around £5). I will not join you inside but will wait for you outside.

You have already booked and paid for the Glastonbury Tour on TripAdvisor so the remaining balance to pay on this page is for the Wells part of the tour.
