Dramatic Scenery near Bath
The village of Cheddar is located 25 miles south-west of Bath. It is famous for cheese (this is where Cheddar Cheese was invented), caves (in one of these they found the Cheddar Man - a 10,000 year old skeleton) and the Cheddar Gorge - my favourite scenery in the area. At 3 miles long, the gorge is England's largest gorge. It was formed thousands of years ago when melting glaciers from the last Ice Age formed a river which bore its way through the landscape creating the gorge
