If you are staying in Bath between the 20th July to the 31st August you may be interested to know that the Roman Baths Museum will be extending their opening hours into the evening.

The Roman Baths Museum is one of the most famous attractions in Bath where you can see the remains of the Roman spa that was built over the city's hot springs. There is a lot to see in the museum, you need at least 1 hour to visit it. You don't need a guide to take you around the museum as your ticket includes a complimentary audio guide. Should you wish you can also pre-purchase a public tour with one of the museum guides.
During the summer, the Roman Baths operate extended opening hours (last entry at 9pm). In the evening they light up the Great Bath with torchlight and have a pop-up bar so that you can enjoy the ambience. This year they are also having live music sessions in the evenings on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and on the August bank holiday Monday. You can read more here.
If you are visiting Bath between 20th July and the 31st August my recommendation would be to avoid visiting the museum during the day when it is very busy with coach groups - instead go in the evening when it should be quieter and if you go on a weekend you can also have the unique experience of enjoying some music as you walk around the baths!
Another tip if you are staying in Bath this summer ... until the 10th August, Bath on the Beach will be operating in the Royal Victoria Park (the venue is tucked away near the main entrance to the park, behind the Royal Pavilion). It is said to be the city's largest beer garden - sand has been put down along with a bar serving drink and pizzas, cabanas and complimentary beach games e.g. table tennis, large jenga, bean bag toss. There is also an Adventure Golf next door - fun for the kids! You can read more here.
One last tip, this Saturday (12th July) is the Bath Carnival so if you are in the centre of Bath look out for the costumed parade complete with a Samba band! The parade is starting at 3pm from the Bath Rec. There will also be free live bands and DJs, food and drink in the Sydney Gardens.
I wish you a wonderful summer in Bath (or wherever you may be this summer!)
