STONEHENGE INNER CIRCLE, WELLS & CHEDDAR
TOUR

Private day-trip

from Bath

TOUR DESCRIPTION

I will collect you at 5:10am from your accommodation in Bath and drive you to Stonehenge, the journey will take approx. 50 minutes.

The public are not normally allowed to go inside the stone circle but you will join their special inner access group to go inside the stone circle - giving you a very unique experience. I will accompany you to explain the history of the stone circle which dates back over 4,000 years ago and point out some of its unusual features. The exact purpose of Stonehenge remains a mystery so at the end of our visit you can form your own opinion!

After visiting Stonehenge I will drive you to a village pub for breakfast. After breakfast I will drive you to Wells, England's smallest city. The journey will take approx. 35 minutes. Wells is renowned for its impressive cathedral - my favourite cathedral in the region! I will guide you around the cathedral where we can also see one of the oldest working clocks in the world. We will also visit the Bishops Palace and Garden. We can also explore the city's small market which takes place every Wednesday and Saturday.

We will have lunch at a village pub before continuing to Cheddar, the birth-place of Cheddar Cheese. We can visit the shop of a small cheese factory which still makes Cheddar Cheese the traditional way and try some of their cheeses at their taster bar. We will then return to Bath driving through the scenic Cheddar Gorge - England's largest gorge and one of my favourite sceneries in the region. We will return to Bath around 5pm. If you have the energy - whilst driving through the gorge we can stop to climb to the top of the gorge for panoramic views of the area - if we did this we will arrive in Bath approx. 1 hour later.
