New Tour: English Vineyard and Scenery

When I travel I enjoy trying the local food and drink and experiencing the area's unique scenery. I was recently in Mexico where I was introduced to their famous Mezcal drink and hiked in the hills around the stunning active Popocatepetl volcano which welcomed me with belching smoke! For travellers who, like me, enjoy such experiences, I have created a tour to experience unique scenery and local produce near Bath.

Visitors to England typically associate England with tea and beer. Few know that England has a growing wine industry. English sparkling wine has won a number of international wine awards, beating the Champagne producers. With climate change affecting temperatures, Champagne Houses such as Pommery and Taittinger have even purchased land in the south of England to grow grapes. There are now over 1100 vineyards in England and more restaurants are starting to add English wine to their drinks menu.

My English Vineyard and Scenery Tour takes you to a small vineyard, approx. 1 hour from Bath. The 13 acre vineyard produces between 10-15,000 bottles of wine a year. You will join their public vineyard tour (max. 12 people) to see their vineyard and get a great insight into the life and challenges of an English vineyard. The tour naturally ends with a tasting of the wine they produce!

After our time at the vineyard I will drive you through the scenic Somerset countryside to show you some of my favourite sceneries in the region. These include the area's most famous landmark: the Glastonbury Tor which rewards those who climb the hill with panoramic views of the Somerset Levels and a drive through England's largest gorge - the Cheddar Gorge. If you are lucky you may see feral sheep and goats on the cliffs of the gorge and as the name implies - this is the area where Cheddar Cheese was invented so if you would like to try some during the tour just let me know!
