Stonehenge has now released the inner circle tickets for experiences between April 2026 and March 2027.

Unbeknown to some, Stonehenge offers the chance to go inside the stone circle when the site is closed to the public. During the public opening hours visitors can get close to the stones but they cannot go inside the stone circle so these inner circle tours offer a very unique Stonehenge experience. On an inner circle tour you get a better appreciation on the size of the stones - stones that were transported and erected over 4,500 years ago! I am always in awe as I stand at the base of the tallest stone and look up. You can also see features which are not possible during a normal access tour including a very special stone which made headlines in 2024 after new research revealed a surprising story (I explain more on my Stonehenge tours!) Guests on an inner circle tour can also benefit from fewer crowds. The experience is limited to 52 people. The group is normally divided into two - with half going inside the stone circle whilst the other half tour the outside - and then both groups swap over. As a result of this limit on the number of people, tickets do sell out in advance so if this experience is of interest I recommend having some flexibility on the dates for your tour and to plan as far in advance as possible.

As the experiences are held outside the public opening hours the inner circle tours can require a very early start from Bath or a late return. To account for this I can organise a breakfast stop on the return to Bath or a dinner stop on the way to Stonehenge (if these are required). These experiences at Stonehenge can only can take place in daylight so the times do vary throughout the year. Sometimes there can be up to 2 slots in the morning with the earliest starting at 6:45am and sometimes there can be 3 in the evening with the latest starting at 8:15pm. The experiences are not held every day in the Winter months and there are none around the solstices.

Inner circle ticket prices are almost three times the price of a normal access ticket so they may not be suitable for everyone's budget. From April an adult ticket will cost £72.70 and a child's ticket will cost £36.30. It is a fantastic experience and despite the early start or late return I always look forward to taking guests on an inner circle tour! If you are interested in an inner circle experience at Stonehenge you can read more here and of course get in touch with any questions.

Whether you go on a normal access tour at Stonehenge or a special inner circle tour I will endeavour to give you an amazing time at these ancient and famous stones :)
